Hough Transform for Opaque Circles Measured from Outside and Fuzzy Voting For and Against
نویسندگان
چکیده
Geometrical limitations on the voting process in the classical Hough transform resulting from that the detected objects are opaque to the applied means of measurement are considered. It is assumed that the measurements are made from one point, like in LIDAR scanning. The detected object is a circle and the two point elementary voting set forming its chord is considered. The first type of conditions are those which can be used during the accumulation process. The side condition says that the circle lies at the opposite side of the chord than the laser source. The magnitude condition requires that points in the elementary set must not be occluded with respect to the source by any circle hypothesised in voting. The second type of conditions can be checked after after the detection. They require that points are neither inside the object nor in its shadow. Departures from this rule are admitted, so fuzzy voting between positive and negative evidence for the object is considered.

Iris localization by means of adaptive thresholding and Circular Hough Transform
In this paper, a new iris localization method for mobile devices is presented. Our system uses both intensity and saturation threshold on the captured eye images to determine iris boundary and sclera area, respectively. Estimated iris boundary pixels which have been placed outside the sclera will be removed. The remaining pixels are mainly the boundary of iris inside the sclera. Then, circular ...
متن کاملFuzzy cell Hough transform for curve detection
In this paper a new variation of Hough Transform is proposed. It can be used to detect shapes or contours in an image, with better accuracy, especially in noisy images. The parameter space of Hough Transform is split into fuzzy cells which are de ned as fuzzy numbers. This fuzzy split provides the advantage to use the uncertainty of the contour point location which is increased when noisy image...
متن کاملDense Hough transforms on gray level images using multi-scale derivatives
The Hough transform for detecting parameterised shapes in images is still today mostly applied on binary images of contours or connected sets, which implies pre-processing of the images that may be costly and fragile. However the simple estimation of the spatial derivatives provides in every pixel the local geometry that can be used for dense voting processes, directly applied on the gray scale...
متن کاملA Fast Randomized Generalized Hough Transform for Arbitrary Shape Detection
The well-known arbitrary shape detection technology, generalized Hough transform (GHT) has the drawbacks of heavy computations (one-to-many or 1-to-n mapping) and storage requirements (voting space and entry number). Some n-to-1 mapping approaches have been proposed for improving the performance of GHT, such as the FGHT (fast generalized Hough transform), ADPHT (Adaptive dual-point Hough transf...
متن کاملRobust Iris Recognition in Unconstrained Environments
A biometric system provides automatic identification of an individual based on a unique feature or characteristic possessed by him/her. Iris recognition (IR) is known to be the most reliable and accurate biometric identification system. The iris recognition system (IRS) consists of an automatic segmentation mechanism which is based on the Hough transform (HT). This paper presents a robust IRS i...
